Let’s get to know Scott Burba! After several years of working with FMP as an external partner, Scott joined our full-time staff in early 2025 with a focus on IT systems and security work. He’s been a wonderful addition to the team, and we’re excited to spotlight him today!
Tell us about your professional/educational background.
I started my consulting career thirty-two years ago with Accenture (when they were known as Andersen Consulting) and have been part of numerous companies of various sizes and industries. I have also been a co-founder and owner of two consulting companies.
What do most people not know about you?
I really love Hawaii. My first trip was back in high school, and I have been back nearly twenty times. I would go back more if we lived on the west coast! The islands – especially Kauai – are just stunning places full of rich culture and history. If I win the lottery, you’ll know where to find me!
When you’re not working, where can we find you?
Well, on the weekends it is a short drive to Amelia Island and the beach, so that is our typical Sunday morning activity (early before the crowds!). There’s nothing like seeing the sun rise on the beach. But during the week, I’m usually sitting in the ‘command center’ (as my wife calls it) trying to take over the world. I build my own PCs, and I’m currently working on a major overhaul of two PCs and the creation of a third.

What brought you to FMP?
I had been serving as a consultant to FMP since early 2022, mainly supporting the Dynamics and SharePoint implementations. Over those nearly three years as a consultant, I had the opportunity to work with numerous individuals at all levels within FMP, and I was always impressed with everyone’s skills and the overall culture that existed. Shout out to Jacob, Kristoffer, and Nathan, with whom I interacted the most over my time as a consultant. Working with them has always been a pleasure and made “coming to work” enjoyable! So when an opportunity opened to convert to an employee, it was a no-brainer.
What do you like the most about working at FMP?
It may seem a cliché, but the people are what brought me to FMP, and they are what keep me excited about coming to work each day. FMP has a unique culture that I think sets them apart from other companies. The knowledge, experiences, and supportive nature of everyone is truly impressive.

What projects have you been working on since you joined?
Since joining the IOS Team within FMP, I have continued to support internal initiatives around Microsoft, transitioning to our new managed service provider, and engaging with Jacob and Mary on cybersecurity and compliance activities. I have also continued my support of the Federal Acqusition Institute’s (FAI) mission by providing technical and strategic expertise. FAI has a fantastic team, and I greatly enjoy doing what I can to help them be successful in delivering their mission!
