Federal agencies are facing a pivotal moment in workforce development where the need for agile, accessible, and self-directed learning has never been greater. As Amanda Palla and Tim Brown highlight in their ATD blog, “Reshaping Federal L&D to Meet the Moment,” federal agencies must rethink traditional training models and embrace tools that empower employees to learn in the moment, at their own pace, and from content that is relevant and tailored to their needs with the goal of enhancing and expanding upon skills. One such tool is Rise 360, a powerful, cost-effective approach within the Articulate 360 suite that creates streamlined, high impact microlearning experiences that meet the needs of federal employees, without the time commitment of traditional training. In this blog, we will take a closer look at how Rise can, fill knowledge gaps and support the L&D needs of federal employees. Whether it’s an employee navigating a rarely used system, or seeking opportunities to upskill by developing communication strategies, Rise delivers just-in-time learning that’s learner centered, intuitive, engaging, and ready when needed.

  • Rise leverages ready-to-use templates with drag-and-drop content blocks that allow for the quick development of content, supporting the need for the swift delivery of effective training.
  • Rise courses are accessible anytime, anywhere and on any device (i.e., computer, phone, iPad), even outside of the traditional learning management systems (LMS), making them perfect for just-in-time learning and on-the-job reference.
  • Rise supports self-directed learning by letting users view content at their own pace and use keyboard shortcuts like ‘CTRL + F’ to quickly find what they need, creating content that is ideal for on-the-job reference, quick refreshers, and upskilling.
  • Rise supports experiential, self-directed learning through an interactive format that uses features like flashcards, clickable graphics, embedded videos, quizzes, and case studies to boost engagement and retention beyond traditional reading of content. What makes Rise especially valuable is its ability to bridge the gap between static content, heavy standard operating procedures (SOPs) and complex traditional e-learning courses. This tool offers a streamlined way to present content that’s both interactive and informative, while remaining efficient to produce, update, and review.
  • Rise is a versatile platform for curating and organizing learning materials in a way that’s both intuitive and centralized. Rise can be used as a hub that brings together internal SOPs, policy documents, external links, videos, job aids, etc. all within a single, navigable platform. This makes it easy for learners to find the tools, guidance, and information they need on a specific topic without having to search across multiple systems or formats, the information is at their fingertips when they need it.

Whether it’s new employee onboarding, compliance training, or role-specific guidance, Rise can be used to deliver targeted learning experiences that are both engaging and easy to access. By embracing tools like Rise, we can continue to deliver impactful learning experiences that demonstrate FMP’s flexibility and client-focused strategies.
